Govt sets up National Dental Commission to reform dental education

The government has set up the National Dental Commission (NDC), replacing the Dental Council of India, to reform dental education and healthcare. Effective from March 19, 2026, the move introduces three autonomous boards to oversee education, assessment and ethics. The reform aims to ensure transparency, improve quality standards, and expand access to affordable dental care nationwide.
