Govt shares advisory on deadly black fungal infection seen in COVID-19 patients

As cases of the deadly black fungal infection Mucormycosis are being reported in COVID-19 patients, Union Health Ministry's ICMR has shared an advisory on screening, diagnosis and management of the infection. It listed pain and redness around the eyes and/or nose, fever, headache, coughing, shortness of breath, bloody vomits and an altered mental status as symptoms of the infection.
