Govt signs historic agreement with Nagaland, Assam for oil exploration

The Centre has signed an agreement with Nagaland and Assam for the joint exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas along the Assam-Nagaland border. Calling it a "historic moment", Union Home Minister Amit Shah said this will help in increasing the extraction capacity more than tenfold. Shah added that oil exploration will "reduce our dependence on foreign sources".
