Govt staff participation in Yoga Day event not mandatory: WB govt to HC

The West Bengal government told Calcutta High Court that it's not mandatory for government employees to participate in the Yoga Day event and that no punitive action will be taken against those who miss it. An employees' union had filed the petition challenging the mandatory attendance. PM Narendra Modi will attend the event at Kolkata's Red Road on June 21.
