Govt tables insurance amendment bill in LS to hike FDI to 100%

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday introduced the Insurance Laws (Amendment) Bill 2025 in Lok Sabha titled "Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha". It seeks to amend the Insurance Act, 1938, Life Insurance Corporation Act, 1956, and Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999. The amendment will increase the foreign direct investment (FDI) limit in insurance companies from 74% to 100%.
