Govt to ask BCCI to stop displaying pan masala, tobacco hoardings inside stadiums: Report

The government will ask BCCI to stop displaying hoardings with smokeless tobacco advertisements, especially surrogate ads by gutka manufacturers, inside stadiums, a report said. Several cricket grounds in India have been displaying such advertisements. A recent study stated that 41.3% of all surrogate ads of smokeless tobacco brands in 2023 were displayed during last 17 matches of ODI World Cup.
