Govt to auto credit ₹30.52 cr lying in inoperative EPFO accounts

Labour Ministry has approved a pilot project to automatically settle 7.11 lakh inoperative EPFO accounts by crediting ₹30.52 crore directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, several reports said. Ministry has decided to return the amount lying in inoperative accounts where the balance is less than ₹1,000. If account holder is no longer alive, the funds will be credited to the nominee.
