Govt to design Indian dress code for convocation ceremony at AIIMS

Health Ministry has decided to "design an appropriate India dress code for the Convocation Ceremony at AIIMS, INIs and other institutes imparting medical education". The ministry said the "current practice of black robe and cap was originated in the Middle Ages in Europe". In a release, it said, "The above tradition is a colonial legacy which needs to be changed."
