Govt to give $4-5 bn incentives for electronics production: Report

The Indian government plans to launch a new scheme offering $4-5 billion in incentives to companies to make components locally for a range of electronics, Reuters reported. Authorities have reportedly finalised the components eligible for incentives and could launch the scheme in the next 2-3 months. The plan aims to cut reliance on China and improve domestic value addition.
