Govt to launch GOBARdhan scheme to promote circular economy: FM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that 500 new waste-to-wealth plants under GOBARdhan (Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan) scheme will be established to promote a circular economy. These will include 200 compressed biogas plants, including 75 in urban areas, and 300 cluster-based plants at a total investment of ₹10,000 crore, she added while presenting the 2023-24 Budget.
