Govt to launch new apps to curb dark patterns of e-commerce firms

The Department of Consumer Affairs will launch new apps on December 24 to protect consumers from the dark patterns of e-commerce firms. The 'Jago Grahak Jago App' will alert consumers if any URL may be unsafe. The 'Jagriti App' will allow users to report URLs where they suspect the presence of dark patterns. The government will also launch 'Jagriti Dashboard'.
