Govt unveils 'Tomato Grand Challenge' hackathon amid rising prices

The government has announced a Tomato Grand Challenge hackathon, wherein it is seeking ideas to ensure availability of tomatoes at affordable prices, while enabling farmers to receive fair value for their produce. The government is inviting students, scholars, startups and MSMEs to participate in the hackathon. Earlier this week, tomato prices crossed ₹100 per kg in several parts of India.
