Gratuitous: SC on Karnataka HC judge referring to Bengaluru area as 'Pakistan'

Supreme Court sought a report from Registrar General of the High Court over Karnataka High Court judge V Srishananda referring to a Bengaluru area as "Pakistan" and his "undergarment" remark while reprimanding a female lawyer. Calling the comments "gratuitous", CJI DY Chandrachud said that guidelines are needed on observations as social media is "now...prominent in observing proceedings in court".
