Groom marries bride's 15-yr-old sister as Odisha bride runs away, minor rescued

A bride eloped with her boyfriend leaving the groom waiting in Odisha, following which her 15-year-old sister was married off with the man. Police rescued her from her in-laws' house as child marriage is prohibited. "No case was registered against [the families]. They agreed not to solemnise her wedding before she attains the marriageable age of 18," said an official.
