Group of youngsters steal $245 mn in crypto in US, splurge on jets & nightclubs

A group of youngsters carried out one of the largest cryptocurrency thefts in US, stealing $245 million between 2023 and 2025, and spent the loot on cars, private jets, luxury watches and nightclubs. Prosecutors described Malone Lam, 22, as the ringleader. He spent over $569,000 in one night at a Los Angeles nightclub before being arrested in Miami in 2025.
