GST cuts & festive demand together fail to increase output of consumption goods: Report

Even the combined effect of GST rate cuts and festive demand failed to spur output of consumer durables and non-durables in the September-November 2025 period, Moneycontrol reported, citing government data. Output of consumer non-durables fell to its weakest level in three years, while consumer durables production dipped to a two-year low. In fact, consumer non-durables dipped by 1.1% in FY26.
