GST on food and beverages at cinema halls cut from 18% to 5%

The GST Council has cleared the recommendation to reduce GST on food and beverages served at cinema halls to 5%, Chandrima Bhattacharya, Finance Minister of West Bengal, said on Tuesday. Previously, food and beverages served at cinema halls attracted a GST rate of 18%. The council also agreed to levy a 28% tax on online gaming, horse racing and casinos.
