GST on overseas air tickets violates global norms: IATA

International Airport Transport Association chief Alexandre de Juniac on Tuesday said that levying GST on overseas air tickets violates international norms and weakens competitiveness of carriers. He expressed concerns about the Indian aviation sector including high jet fuel prices and privatisation of airports. IATA is a grouping of over 280 airlines including Air India, Jet Airways and Vistara.
