GST profiteering charge against India Gate Basmati dismissed

The National Anti-Profiteering Authority has dismissed GST profiteering charges against KRBL, the maker of India Gate Basmati Rice. A complaint lodged in November 2017 alleged that KRBL did not pass on the benefit of tax rate reduction to consumers. An investigation found that tax rate on packed Basmati rice was increased and purchase price of paddy had also gone up.
