Guatemala on nationwide alert as Fuego Volcano enters more explosive phase

Guatemala declared its second-highest emergency alert after the Fuego Volcano eruption entered a more explosive phase with lava flows and ash plumes reportedly rising 6 km. The eruption of one of Central America's most active volcanoes has prompted evacuations in a 10-km radius, school closures and road shutdowns. Authorities urged people to keep their windows and doors closed.
