Guj govt opposes release of convicts in Godhra train burning case

Gujarat government on Friday opposed the release of some convicts in the 2002 Godhra train burning case in the Supreme Court. A two-member bench was hearing a plea seeking the release of the convicts involved in stone pelting in the case. The state government counsel, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, argued that the convicts prevented passengers from escaping the burning coach.
