Guj to change marriage registration norms, parents to be notified

The Gujarat government proposed amendments to marriage registration norms that would require couples to submit their parents' details and declare whether they have informed them. Moreover, their parents would be formally notified within 10 working days, with officials saying it would enhance transparency, prevent fraud, and protect women. Public feedback has been invited for 30 days.
