Gujarat deletes 73.7 lakh names in draft voter roll after SIR

Over 73.7 lakh names were removed from Gujarat's draft electoral roll after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Chief Electoral Officer Hareet Shukla said. The draft roll now lists 4.34 crore voters, down from 5.08 crore before October 27. Officials said deletions followed non-receipt of enumeration forms despite repeated verification with Booth Level Agents and political party representatives.
