Gujarat extends ban on manufacture, sale of gutkha, paan masala till Sep 2027

The Gujarat government has extended its ban on the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of gutkha and tobacco- or nicotine-containing paan masala for another year from September 13. The prohibition, in force since 2012, will remain until September 12, 2027. The government cited health risks, including oral cancer, and warned of strict legal action against violators.
