Gujarat hikes dearness allowance for govt employees from 17% to 28%

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has announced that the state government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners from 17% to 28% with effect from July 1. The move will benefit 9.6 lakh state government employees and 4.5 lakh pensioners, he said. The hike will cost the state exchequer ₹378 crore per month.
