Gujarat makes counsellors mandatory in schools with 100+ students

Gujarat has made wellness teams mandatory in schools for Classes 9–12 to support students' mental health. Schools with at least 100 students must appoint a trained counsellor, while smaller schools must seek help from local experts. The rules also cover suicide prevention, confidential counselling, staff training and timely intervention when students show signs of distress.
