Gujarat to spend Rs 500 cr to make every city 'wire-free'

Gujarat has launched a major 'Wire-Free City' mission aimed at removing overhead utility wires and shifting telecom, internet, and electricity infrastructure underground. The initiative seeks to improve urban aesthetics, reduce accidents, enhance disaster resilience, and support smart city development. Several municipal corporations are expected to implement the project in phases.
