Gujarati-origin NYC mayor Mamdani spotted playing Garba in New York

NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani was spotted at a Navaratri celebration in New York, dancing Garba with members of the Hindu diaspora. Videos showed him wearing a dupatta and later seeking blessings from a temple priest. Earlier, Mamdani extended wishes to Hindus, acknowledging traditions including Garba, Sindur Khela, Tika, and Golu, and describing Navaratri as a time for "reflection and renewal".
