Gukesh becomes world no. 3, Praggnanandhaa ranked 8th in world chess rankings

Grandmaster Gukesh D, who defeated China's Ding Liren in World Chess Championship in December 2024, climbed to number three in FIDE classical chess rankings, while R Praggnanandhaa has re-entered top 10. Gukesh, who lost Tata Steel Masters to Praggnanandhaa on tiebreak, has a rating of 2,787, trailing Magnus Carlsen (2,833) and Hikaru Nakamura (2,802). Praggnanandhaa is now ranked eighth (2,758).
