Gunmen abduct over 100 people from 4 villages in northwest Nigeria

More than 100 people, including women and children, were abducted by gunmen from four villages in Nigeria's northwestern Zamfara state on Sunday, authorities and residents said. Such mass abductions by armed groups are said to have become endemic in northwest Nigeria. Zamfara's Information Minister Ibrahim Dosara accused the gunmen of using abductees as human shields against military air strikes.
