Gunmen attack maternity ward of Kabul hospital; newborns among 13 dead

Thirteen people, including two newborns, were killed in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Tuesday in an attack by gunmen on a hospital where the international organisation Doctors Without Borders runs a maternity clinic. In a separate attack, a suicide bomber killed at least 24 people and injured 68 others at the funeral of a police commander in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province.
