Guppies harming native freshwater species: Scientists

Used to control mosquitoes, guppies are now harming native freshwater biodiversity, raising concerns over unintended ecological impacts. Scientists recommend using indigenous species of fish, such as killifish or barbs, or aquatic bugs and beetles, dragonflies and damselflies, nymphs, and crustaceans like tadpole shrimp as better alternatives to guppies.
