Habitual lying gets worse over time as brain adapts: Study
Telling small lies makes the brain emotionally adapt to committing bigger dishonest acts, a study by London-based neuroscientists claimed. A strong reaction was observed in the emotion-related brain regions of first-time liars in a game, but this effect gradually reduced over time as they played. Further, as players got used to deceiving others for personal gain, they became more untrustworthy.
