Hackers can turn speakers into acoustic cyberweapons: Researchers

UK-based cybersecurity firm PwC's researchers have claimed that everyday speakers can be hacked to produce "deafening noises", effectively turning them into potential acoustic cyberweapons. Such a hack could be used to disorient a person, harm their hearing, or cause problems like psychological imbalance, a researcher said. Sustained levels of weaponised noises could also prove fatal, he added.
