Human hair offering at the Lord Venkateswara shrine in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh has fetched the temple ₹17.82 crore in two months. The auction of the human hair fetched ₹11.88 crore and ₹5.94 crore in July and August, said officials. About 10 million devotees annually get their heads tonsured at the temple as a fulfillment of their vows, said an official.
