HAL's Light Utility Helicopter nears certification, delivery by FY28

India's indigenously developed Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) is in final certification stages with CEMILAC. HAL plans to deliver the first 12 units to the Army and IAF in FY 2027-28. The helicopter will replace ageing Cheetah and Chetak fleets. Combined orders for at least 187 LUHs are expected, with production at Tumakuru.
