Haldia becomes India's 41st seaport with immigration facilities

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has designated Haldia Port in West Bengal as an authorised immigration post, reportedly to boost maritime trade and the movement of tourists there. This makes Haldia the 41st seaport immigration post along India's coastline, ANI reported. Earlier, three seaports in Gujarat—Dahej, Sikka, and Tuna Tekra were designated as immigration posts.
