Hamas leader killed in Lebanon was a UN employee

Fath Essharif, the leader of Palestinian militant group Hamas in Lebanon, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike, was an employee of the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). "Despite knowing about his terrorism ties for months, UNRWA refused to fire Essharif," Israel said. Essharif was suspended from his job at UNRWA in March following allegations concerning his politics.
