County club Hampshire reversed their decision to sign New Zealand cricketer Scott Kuggeleijn as their overseas player after facing backlash from supporters. The criticism centred on his 2017 rape trial, in which he was acquitted. Hampshire said they listened to concerns raised by fans and stakeholders before cancelling the deal. Kuggeleijn was accused of rape and indecent assault in 2015.
