Hands not tied to intervene when free & fair polls are polluted by illegal means: SC

The Supreme Court said its hands aren't tied when intervention is necessary to ensure that free and fair elections are not polluted by illegal means such as the use of muscle power. The court said this while granting interim relief to YSRCP, which alleged that its candidates were prevented from filing nominations for urban local body elections due to violence.
