Haryana Congress suspends 5 MLAs for cross-voting in RS elections

Haryana Congress suspended five MLAs for cross-voting in Rajya Sabha elections last month. The suspended legislators are Shalley Chaudhary (Naraingarh), Renu Bala (Sadhaura), Mohammad Ilyas (Punhana), Mohammad Israil (Hathin), and Jarnail Singh (Ratia). The cross-voting had almost cost the party candidate Karamveer Boudh a seat in elections. Congress believes they voted for a BJP-backed candidate.
