Haryana hikes sugarcane price to ₹430/quintal; farmers protest

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini announced a ₹35/quintal hike in sugarcane prices over two years — ₹430/quintal in 2026-27 and ₹450 in 2027-28. Farmers' unions BKU Charuni and BKU Tikait rejected the hike as inadequate, demanding ₹600/quintal. BKU Charuni called a protest at Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana's residence in Radaur on Friday.
