Haryana's Pehowa keeps centuries-old family records alive

Every year, lakhs of people from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Bihar, and southern states visit Pehowa in Haryana for post-death rituals and offer prayers to their ancestors. During their visits, they enter personal details in 'bahis', also known as genealogy registers. These handwritten records preserve generations of family history, including those of royal families.
