Hashem Safieddine likely to become new Hezbollah leader

Hashem Safieddine, cousin of slain Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, could succeed him as the group's next leader, reports claimed. Safieddine, who oversees Hezbollah's political affairs, has significant ties to the group's military operations and has also managed its civilian programmes. Safieddine was designated as terrorist by US in 2017 and has survived Israeli assassination attempts.
