HC fines Army Chief, Defence Secretary ₹2 lakh over pension delay

Punjab and Haryana High Court has imposed ₹2 lakh fine on Defence Secretary Rajesh Singh and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi over delays in granting disability pension to retired Major Rajdeep Dinkar Pandere, reports said. The court noted that despite orders in his favour, pension benefits weren't released on time. It added that amount will be deducted from both salaries.
