HC lawyers urge Bar Council to remove black coats dress code

The Calcutta High Court lawyers have written to the Bar Council of India, urging the removal of the black coats and gowns as the essential dress code inside the courtrooms. The lawyers asked the Council to consider changing the dress code imposed by the British citing the "unbearable" summer heat spell this year and black clothes being heat absorbers.
