HC orders Shiv Cement to pay ₹66 lakh as UltraTech wins trademark case

The Bombay High Court granted a permanent injunction in favour of UltraTech Cement, restraining local trader Shiv Cement from using similar trademarks like 'UltraPlus' and 'UltraHiTouch'. In the decade-old case, the Aditya Birla Group firm had alleged trademark infringement and passing off. The court ordered Shiv Cement to compensate UltraTech with ₹50 lakh and cover ₹16.48 lakh in legal expenses.
