HC upholds grant of war injury benefits after four decades

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has upheld the Armed Forces Tribunal’s order granting war injury pension and benefits to a Special Forces soldier nearly four decades after he suffered eye injuries during anti-terrorist operations in Sri Lanka. The government had denied the claim, saying the injury from a tree branch was not battle-related, but the court rejected this view.
