HDFC Bank chief breaks silence after quitting abruptly, says 'We don't dig well after fire'
HDFC Bank Chairman Atanu Chakraborty, who quit abruptly on March 18, broke silence by explaining some of the ethical "incongruencies" at the bank. Chakraborty said customer onboarding and conduct lapses in the bank's Dubai operations were called "technical" lapses by CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan, but they also brought reputational risk. "We don't dig well after fire has taken place," Chakraborty said.
