He glorified sati: Opp'n as BJP MP refers to Rani Padmavati in LS

Lok Sabha was briefly adjourned on Tuesday after commotion over BJP MP Chandra Prakash Joshi's alleged reference to Rani Padmavati in Parliament. Leaders of NCP, DMK, Congress and AIMIM accused Joshi of glorifying the abolished practice of 'sati'. Joshi claimed he hadn't made any reference to 'sati’, but mentioned that Rani Padmavati had performed 'jauhar' (self-immolation) to protect her honour.
